No. It was announced by the host that English songs cant enter the chart when Sandy fans wish to vote "I swear" in the late 90s..

I think as long it is a total 100% non-chinese song, it will not be able to enter the chart...Unless it is a mixture of chinese and other languages, it still can enter the chart..

for me, i feel Ni An Dong's song very Shayne Ward-ish, nothing special.

i've a feeling 'Lao Chang Pan' will do extremely well. the chorus is really catchy.

Grandfather of The Chart

Congrats to Gary Cao, as ‘Ye Ye’ climbed 4-1 to become his 5th No.1. As in earlier trivia, this is the oldest family member in the chart, as 奶奶, 外婆 though popular with songwriters, had never graced the chart.

It Takes Two

This is a very interesting trivia that I missed last week.

About 1 month ago on 10 October, Fahrenheit’s ‘Tai Re’ toppled Hebe’s ‘Ji Mo Ji Mo Jiu Hao’. However, after that, it collapsed. Last week, they toppled Hebe’s same song again with ‘Xin Teng Ni De Xin Teng’. That means Fahrenheit took 2 songs from one album to No.1 to topple a song. Such thing only happened 4 times in chart history:

1989 – Eric Moo used 那一段日子 and 你是我的唯一 to eventually toppled Dave Wang and Ye Huan’s monster duet, 你是我胸口永远的痛.

1996 – Jeff Chang used 太想爱你 and 我是真的 to destroy Jackie Cheung’s 情书.

Only exception is in 2001, Eason Chan’s 不如这样 and K歌之王 managed to dethrone F4’s 流星雨, but it still managed to return to No.1 2 weeks later.

Charts Bits and Pieces:
· Jeff Chang and Olivia Ong jumped 8-3 with ‘Xing Fu De Li Liang’ after a decline last week, whch is extremely surprising. The song is thus Jeff’s biggest duet ever.
· Jolin suffered a surprise setback as ‘Wu Yan Yi Dui’ plunges 11-out. Its 3 weeks is way below 2009’s critically acclaimed ‘Jiang Luo San’ which spent 7 weeks in the Top 20 and peaking at No.11.
· Lala Xu managed a 3rd hit with ‘Lv Zhou’ that debuted at No.20. This is her 2nd continent 洲 related song, after her big hit, ‘Shi Luo Sha Zhou’ last year. Personally, I think this should be her 1st single.

zzz this is a realy sucky week for the chart. top 3 songs all undeserving of their positions and cuo de ren plunging so heavily. cant believe mei li mao and zui hou de na yi tian actualy hav higher peak positions than cuo de ren . ai wo hen wo is also stil in the chart -.- but luckily peggy xu dropped out. hope nxt wk fish can debut and save the chart from its dropping standards

elva's performance is so disappointing... and i can't believe sodagreen fell out instead of hebe. lala's song to go all the way to number 1!

Deja Vu

Oh my, this week chart is really full of deja vu:

· Fahrenheit returned to No.1 with ‘Xin Teng Ni De Xin Teng’, equaling the feat of ‘Yue Lai Yue Ai’ from 2008
· Da Mouth peaking at No.2 again with ‘Mei Li Mao’, tying their 2008 effort, ‘Na Qu’ which also peaked at No.2
· sodagreen plunged out from No.6 with ‘Wu Mian’, just like its predecessor, ‘Shi Nian Yi Ke’.

Of course, Zheng Kewei, Cha Ban Sheng both traded their old hits for new.

Biggest Opener Third Hit

If anyone was thinking if Hebe has the biggest climber for a 3rd hit, then regret to say that Jay has beaten her to it as ‘Shuo Le Zai Jian’ zoomed 13-4 this year. However, Hebe can still be proud that this is the best opened for a 3rd single in the Top 10 as ‘Ni Tai Chang Kuang’ entered at No.3, the biggest ever. No song has ever opened that high before as a 3rd single.

· Elva has finally had a first, though she might not like it though. Her ballad ‘Cuo De Ren’ which peaked at No.5 is performing worse that the dance track for her, as ‘Xiao Sa Xiao Jie’ went to No.3. This is the first time ever for her.
· Aaron Kwok and Fish Leong are riding on the same idea, piecing names of their old hits into a new song. A greatest hit album in the near future?
· Wonfu and Edison have also been cope-ing old songs for ideas, one from a 70 hit Feng Fei Fei song, and another, nursery rhyme.

i dun noe what happened to the videos in the 90s. seems like all the Taiwanese version has disappeared. The ones for Sky and Tarcy are both from Hong Kong. For Tarcy, becos HK version is a ballad, (yes, 追得过一切 in cantonese is a ballad), so the lyrics are very out-of sync.

saw a picture of Tarcy in zao bao on saturday. omg, she is so fat...

btw, what do you all think of Fann Wong's No.1 from 10 years ago. I hardly remember that she had such a song.
