Breaking news about Yes 933

Reigning number 1 champion radio station Yes 933 has slipped its spot in listenership to a disappointing number 2, giving way to her sister station Love 972.

What does this mean?

1. Are our local stations losing their attraction to the young listeners which is the targeted age group for Yes 933?
2. Or music from the current era is no longer as attractive as the oldies?

Listeners are avoiding 933 with their boring play list. Not surprising.

With the quality of those heading the stations and those hosting, it's a no-brainer that they will lose listeners instead of being able to retain them

and songs like play wo pei and freak show didnt even get to chart in 933 lol. no wonder

I think the move of popular djs like Chong Qing to 972 also resulted in the supporters moving over as well. This could be the reasons 972 managed to topple 933.

but then again, the hopeless playlist.. zzzz... Where is the LIFE? where is the VIBRANCY???

i notice half the 933 playlist nowadays is full of new songs from b-list or unknown singers. and on the contrary they are also not playing the new songs from a-list singers fast enough.

at the same time, there is a lack of good mix of songs from the late 90s and early 2000s.

if they manage to survive the departure of Dasmond Koh, Bao Bao, Danny Yeo, I don't think this might be the reason.

Only Dennis moved to 972. Bukoh Mary went to 958 right? Unless you are saying Dennis is the game changer.

I think it's the lousy boss and DJs that destroy all the hard work put in to build this station.

Dennis is very popular, so is Bukoh. The 2 will definitely bring away some listeners. Then, plus the lousy play list and multiple other small reasons, eg. grow of other stations, this ended in 933 being toppled. by the way, 972 is not the "old man station" anymore. The station play some rather fast tempo tunes too.
