Why is Jam not nominated for 最受欢迎男歌手奖? And what happened to Fish for 最佳演绎女歌手奖?

最受欢迎男歌手奖 nominees are based on chart performance. jam didnt chalk up enough points during the qualifying period. as he only released his album in june and the qualifying period ends in jul, he didnt make the cut this time round...

fish album this time round is definitely not up to standard, compared to the 5 who are nominated. it is actually kinda expected.

one thing im not very happy about is 插班生 is not nominated for best local but they are nominated for best group. their album is obviously good. and i dun understand why 郑可为 can be qualified for nominated despite album only has 3 mandarin songs. kinda unfair rite?

Maybe because they want more people to be nominated so more people will attend SHA XD

(take note, GROUP, not BAND). i think there are simply too few good groups that chart in the past year to start off with, so its not a surprise that 插班生 made it. But for best local artiste, we have stiffer competition, and so 插班生 didn't qualify. seriously, just judging on vocals, id take 郑可为 over 插班生 any day.

haha what im saying is.. i dun see why Tay Kewei can be qualified for nomination since her album is not exactly a mandarin album to start with. CBS their album is their own production and have received good reviews. Thus I can't figure out why they cldnt be nominated. But oh well.. hahaha

Looking at the list of celebrities attending this year's show, I wonder if there is still a need to organise such an event. It will be a waste of money and effort.

The organisers seriously need to revamp this whole event.

Either (i) make it a local music award show where only locals are recognised
(ii) make it an award entirely based on popularity where winners are based completely on votes by public
(iii) hand over the show to concert organisers, format it as a concert(like Loud Festival, Rock 30 or Sundown), awards becoming a secondary role

I know there might be 933 fans reading this. Sorry but this is going to be a flop, once again.

i agree with you. i dont see the point in letting the singers know the results before hand, to ensure that they attend.

haha. actually i think SHA is necessary lah. at least to acknowledge the efforts of asian music industry mah, they already put more focus on local music industry already by categorising some awards specified to locals only.

yupp, the guest lists are always so pathetic. but oh well, at least SHA is smth that i always look forward to every year, lol.. no matter who comes.

I personally am satisfied with the winners,

maybe not for best male/female vocalist, thought Yoga and Yanzi were more deserving winners for these awards

and Most Popular Male came to me as a shocker! But I am happy for Derrick!

I am quite surprised for the winners of some of the awards...

At least it made this year SHA interesting...

to be frank, we can guess the results just by looking at the attendees. but i didnt get best male female singer right. tot will be yoga n stef. but others all got it right... =)

You satisfied? Lol. F.I.R is like 1000times better than Magic Power please.

Jam beat Yoga again? ZZZ. And it's only reasonable for Amei to win Best female. Totally deserving. But best Composing artiste...

i'm quite pleased that A*Mei won best female vocalist again. while she handled the emotions well with the ballads in the album, she totally had much fun and experimentation with the fast songs. it is an album that tests versatility in her vocals. besides, dou shen me shi hou le is totally not fit for a normal singer to sing. i've heard many disasters with this song on KTV.

Congrats to her for winning it a 3rd time!

lol never did i think that derrick wld win most popular. because it was simply unconvincing u see..
but i really think his fans voted very hard, and he is already in the 3rd place for 933 chart tabulations..
but i cant figure out how he cld win show in the 40%. lol

but Im seriously happy for him, I hope he can really be the next big thing for singapore in the asian mandopop market. after JJ like no one can be as successful alr.. so i hope derrick can do it
