Chart Trivia Week 28

Reversal of Fortune

Almost 6 years ago, when Jaycee released his first album, his first two singles reached No.18 (Zui Dong Ting) and No.19 (Little Boy) respectively. This time around, he completely reversed his chart fortune, scoring a No.2 with 'Ruo Wu Qi Shi' and a No.1 with 'Jia Dong Zuo'. This improvement is truly legendary indeed.

Of course, not to mention, he has completely beaten his father, Jackie Chan in terms of chart performance.

This is also the 2nd faking song on the chart. The last one by Jolin Cai, 'Jia Zhuang' also hit No.1 in 2006.

Growing Stronger

Also getting better results chart wise is Y2J or Shen Mu Yu Tong. 'Kuan Shu' lifting from 4-2 has improved on the position since 'Cao Jie Zhi' hit No.3 in 2008. However, the hope of No.1 is getting elusive as there is a super strong competitor zipping 13-4.

Suave Eddie

He came and conquer. This week, Eddie Peng climbed 19-14 with 'Zhuan Jiao De Xia Tian'. In terms of actors from idol drama, Eddie is performing extremely well.

By the way, the voters seems to have a lot of problem accepting new artistes. Despite many of them have better songs, they are stucked between 16-20. oh well...

Exactly! Especially mian hua tang and wei li an!!!! I think they have great songs!!!! But for wei li an i prefer yin wei ai... hopefully mian hua tang can rebound next week :X

New King In Town

What a way for a coronation! With 'Shuo Le Zai Jian' jumping 4-1, Jay Zhou is now the male artiste with the most No.1 at 25 No.1s, beating Andy Lau. He has also tied Selena and Hebe as well. With him coming to town, will his 26th No.1 be coming soon?

However, it looks like the fans of SHE are trying to give the group their 25th as well. Will be an exciting battle!

Preacher Sammi

Athough Sun Ho is effectively the first artiste to have religious background on the chart, if you examine the lyrics of her songs, they are not that obvious. Therefore, Sammi Cheng is the 1st to chart with a new wave of gospel songs, and her new direction gave her one of the highest entry ever in her career, when 'Xin Zhe De Ai' opens at No.14, only 1 place lower than Bo Li Xie from 2002. This is such a dramatic turn from her days of techno sounds.

They Are Back

You got to give it to the songwriters. This week, Danson Tang announces his return with 'I'm Back' at No.15. Besides him, there are few artistes also proudly declare their return:

For the first time ever, we have 2 songs debuting at No.11 and No.12, and they are no other than super stars in the form of Wang LeeHom ('Chai Mi You Yan Jiang Chu Cha' at No.11) and Jolin (‘Mei Ren Ji' at No.12). One is a folksy, laid back tune, and the other is a slice of Eurodance. There is a fierce battle ahead. Whatever it is, Jay's reign at No.1 with 'Shuo Le Zai Jian' has started its countdown.

With all the young girls going gaga over Korean pop, it is not surprising that someone with relations to it is going to make a big splash. Enter Han Geng who is a former member of the Korean boyband SuperJunior as he debuts at No.14 with My Logo, beating all the chart records of his former band mates. SuperJunior - M only managed No.19 in 2008 with 'Me'. Interestingly, Han Geng is a Chinese National, not Korean, and he is from a rather less known minority related to the Manchu known as Hezhe, from Heilongjiang region.

i hate to say it, but Rabbit's tune is horrendous. Why Eddie Peng is still climbing?

strange, some part of Mei Ren Ji sunds like Jolin's 2005 song, Zhao Pai Dong Zuo.

while i was typing the trivia, 933 played Liang Wenfu's 'Xin Jia Po Pai'. It has not sound old despite it was released 20 years ago, truly a classic!

Jolin's Mei Ren Ji sounds like Sexyback at some parts. And its a song that i listen more, i'll get addicted to it.
I dont like LeeHom's new single. Its kinda boring to be considered something from LeeHom. It may end up being like Hua Tian Cuo which didnt really garner enuff support.

Lol. I love leehom's new song! I find it relaxing, the kind of songs I like =D
